      Overview

This book is far more than just a collection of photographs – it is an intimate memoir of Venice. Far from being a typical guide, it takes the reader on a delightful stroll along Venice’s calli, bridges, alleys and campielli in search of mysterious corners and surprising views.

Vinicio Tassani, a true Venetian and lifelong lover of his city, has discovered and experienced these places during his many wanderings, exploring the calli, peeking into doorways and courtyards, making small but polite transgressions and skilfully wielding his camera to capture the colourful and sometimes decadent soul and timeless charm of a Venice with so much still to be discovered.

      About the author

Vinicio Tassani was born in Venice and spent his youth there; it was a crucial period for his training as a photographer, which he then furthered at the New York Institute of Photography. His experience in travel photography has also served him well in street photography and portraits.
